The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation has declared this week Random Acts of Kindness Week.
I've been so busy over the past few weeks. I've been so preoccupied with work, with class, with me, with me, and also with me. It's been exhausting. It's time focus elsewhere. It's time to stop looking in the mirror and pay attention to someone other than little old me.
Could anyone else use a little bit of this in their life right now?
"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."
The kindness we practice this week needn't be anything enormous or dramatic. What if we just do a few little somethings? What if do a few little things to take ourselves out of spotlight even for just a moment? What if we shine our light on someone else?
If little acts of kindness aren't jumping to mind, The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation has a few suggestions.
Monday, Feb 11—Smile at 10 strangers.
Tuesday, Feb 12—Buy something for the person in the line behind you.
Wednesday, Feb 13—Reach out to someone you haven't talked to in a while.
Thursday, Feb 14—Bring a treat to a neighbor or your co-workers.
Friday, Feb 15—Donate your time or money to a local charity.
Saturday, Feb 16—Cook a healthy meal.
Sunday, Feb 17—Let someone go in front of you in line.
Sounds simple, right? I don't think I'll wait until tomorrow to start!
Help! What random act of kindness should I perform this week?
